Coming & Going

“You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out.” Deuteronomy 28:6
Last Sunday I got to pray over and bless two couples on their last Sunday at FCC before moving out of state. Both Brian and Grace Lee and Carlos and Melissa Masters will be missed for the blessing they were, the relationships they invested in, and the ways they served and blessed their church in their time here. It is always a special time at FCC when we gather and pray blessings on friends when they leave to go on a mission trip or to go elsewhere.
We don’t always know how long we’ll have with the friends God brings us, but we take comfort in God’s goodness in giving us the time he has, and knowing that he has charted our days, plans, and relationships long ago: “You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my every thought when far away. You chart the path ahead of me and tell me where to stop and rest. Every moment you know where I am.” (Psalm 139:2-4)
On April 12, we’re blessed to have Karen (Conrad) Balmer return to FCC to share with anyone interested about the amazing Christian education available at Minnehaha Academy, our Covenant K-12 school in Minneapolis. Karen grew up at FCC and is now the principal of the Lower and Middle School. There will be a 12:15pm reception for anyone interested in hearing more about the opportunity of Minnehaha from Karen and some of our MA families from FCC.

Here’s What’s Coming Up:
Easter Baptism Sunday
As we focus on “dying to self” this Easter season, we invite you to prayerfully consider your place within the kingdom of God. On Easter Sunday, all who feel a tug to commit their lives to Christ and to live as members of God’s family will be invited to come and get baptized. If you would like to talk/pray about this opportunity, please contact Pastor John at firstname.lastname@example.org. Easter services are 9:30am & 11:00am Easter Sunday. There are Easter invite cards in the lobby if you would like to invite someone this year to Easter. It is an easy way to invite them to hear one of the best stories of all time!
Whether you’re new to Faith Covenant or have been here awhile, you’re invited to join us for membership classes at 12:15pm on Sunday, April 19 & 26. You’ll get a chance to meet and talk with Faith’s pastors, learn about the Covenant denomination and Faith Covenant in more detail, and dialogue with us about what it looks like to be an active part of a local church. Childcare is provided. Sign up in the lobby or email email@example.com to reserve your spot.
Responsible Church Makeover
The roofing project is underway! We will soon have three sections repaired on the south end of the building as well as the leak in the worship center. The building is being restored one step at a time and it is a true blessing! We still need your help in funding this phase of the Responsible Church Makeover. Currently we have $39,673 of the $100,000 needed for the project, with the final payment due in 3 weeks, once the work is complete. We hope to pay CASH and avoid incurring debt. Thank you for your encouragement and support to repair the building and property we have been given the responsibility to steward by our gracious God!
Sticky Faith Parenting Class
This five-week class drops you into the latest national family research, and into the hearts of parents discussing their own struggles, successes and ideas that have shaped lasting faith in their own families. Join us in a fresh and honest look at parenting strategies and discover new ideas that work. Great for parents, grandparents or anyone who cares for children. 5 Wednesdays in April, 6:30-8pm. Register by going to faithcovenant.org/ministries/children-youth-family/ Click the “parents” button or find it on the banner. Led by Erin Foley.
Women’s Spring Bible Study
The Women’s Ministry Team would like to invite the women at Faith Covenant to experience God through His Word. We are offering “The Shelter of God’s Promises” on Tuesdays starting March 31. Meeting times are 9:30am or 6:30pm, with childcare offered during the morning session to those who preregister. All registrations will be done online at www.faithcovenant.org/womens-ministry/.
Women’s Ministry Spring Conference
The women’s ministry team is planning a stay-cation conference, May 1 and 2, for the women of Faith. Come join us for a time of worship and fellowship! Sessions will be from 6:30-8:30pm on Friday and from 9am-12noon on Saturday. Women are invited to stay overnight at the church on Friday to continue in fellowship with games and movies. During our sessions, there will be narratives read, live art, and praise and worship. Register online at faithcovenant.org/womens-ministry/ or via registration card provided at the welcome desk.
CHIC Clothing Donation
We will be collecting clothing, accessories and linens to support the 15 students going to CHIC this summer. The donation box will be in the hall by the east door from March 22-29. Your donations will then be taken to Unique, which will pay us per pound. 400 kitchen-sized garbage bags will net us about $1000 – that’s just 1-2 bags per family in our church! Please donate if you can. Additionally, consider setting out a donation box at your workplace too! Contact Lynn if you can help in that way: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Paid Childcare Worker
We are in need of a few more people to work in our nursery during Tuesday morning Bible studies, Wednesday evening classes, or for special events when childcare is needed. This is a paid position and requires a background check. Please contact Brian, email@example.com, or Lynn, firstname.lastname@example.org, if you are interested.
