One thing I am understanding more in more as I get older is that life is more connected than I ever had imagined. This fact is something I am reminded of daily with a newborn in the house. All of our family rhythms have been completely undercut by our little guy. Going to the grocery store, for example, is a process that takes as long as an hour more to complete than before he made his arrival. I never would have known something like this before I had kids.
The same is true of our spiritual lives. All of our choices are connected. Our inability to make time for our relationship with God, particularly when it feels like there simply “isn’t enough time” is connected to just about everything else in our lives. My challenge for you (and for me) this week is this: consider what things in your life are affecting your ability to make time for your spiritual development.
Are you watching too much TV to have a consistent quiet time? Are you over-committed with other activities that you have no time to serve? Are you cleaning your house so much that you make no time for relationships with other believers that encourage you?
I pray God reveals the necessary changes you may need to make to let your whole life and schedule honor Him best.
See you Sunday,
Children, Youth & Family Director
Here’s What’s Coming Up:
Pastoral Search Team Commissioning
The team that will lead the search for a new lead pastor at Faith Covenant Church has been formed. Members are: James Boldenow, Rob Dahlin, Kristy Kammerer, Koren Willetts and Karen Wilson. As we commission them this Sunday, April 26, we ask that each of you, as congregants of Faith Covenant, also commit to supporting them through prayer and encouragement.
Get Shot 4 CHIC
On Mother’s Day, the CHIC team will offer casual family photos from 9am-12:45pm. Take a picture with mom, for mom, or in honor of mom (you could even bring a photograph of your mom!). We will have two professional photographers in the lobby and will have props and backdrops ready. The photos will be available for you to purchase if you so desire at a later date. What are we asking in return? Instead of the usual professional photography “sitting fee”, we ask that you donate to our CHIC students. Thank you, and see you and your mom on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 10!

Small Groups Celebration Lunch
Last year we gathered to celebrate our small group ministries by hearing testimonies from other small groups and by receiving encouragement from our small group leadership team. On May 9, it’s time to come together again and hear what God is doing! We invite you to be part of this wonderful lunch. Please rsvp to email@example.com by May 6.
