Faith Covenant Church

Faith Serving Romania

Posted on Jun 1, 2017 in Faith Updates

I want to begin by thanking you with all my heart for your support for our Romania Mission Team. Last year, when I was searching and asking God the church that He wanted me to serve at, I prayed that it would be a church that desired to come alongside this mission to love these poor kids, and all of you have exceeded that hope of mine. Though the number of people actually traveling to Romania is small, our whole church is being represented there through your gifts and your prayer support! Thank you Faith Covenant, for serving our great God by sending us!

Our Team is getting very excited to go, and I can’t wait to introduce them to the kids over there that I have been serving for the past 5 years. Our first team is Tabi Freeman, Naomi Kuplic, and Brenda Freeman and myself. I will fly out with this team, leaving Saturday, June 24, and they will return on July 8.

Our second team is Mackenzie Madsen, Chase Lenz, Stephanie Lenz, Autumn Olinger, and Carrie Olinger. They will be heading to Romania on Saturday, July 8 and then all of us will be coming back on July 20. Please continue to keep my team and me in your prayers as we prepare to love, teach, and serve these oppressed children. Please pray for the children in Romania as well, and that they are receptive to the Gospel message of Jesus Christ.

We are so close to our financial goal as we have only 30% left until being fully funded. If you find God placing it on your heart, and would like to help us reach our financial goal, we would be more than grateful. We have a couple options in receiving financial support: the Wall O Money is still available at the youth counter in the church lobby; and you can also give online through Faith Covenant’s website, by clicking HERE .  (For online giving: under the middle column titled Registrations there is a box titled Event Registrations – please write Romania Team, and the team members name if you desire to help a certain team member.) While you are at church within the next few weeks, please take time to watch the video of kids that we will be ministering to on the TV in the lobby.

Again, THANK YOU so much for all of your support, and know that each of us on the Romania Team are very grateful for all of you. Please continue to keep us, the children in Romania, and the missionaries serving there in your prayers. We look forward to sharing what God has done on our trip as we Go, and make disciples that will Go make more disciples.

Vă mulțumesc și fiți binecuvântați! (Thank you and be blessed!)
Nick

Here’s What’s Happening at Faith

Feasibility Meetings Follow Up

Thank you to all who attended the Facility Feasibility meetings last week. You all should expect follow up asking for your feedback via comment sheet or interview. If you were not able to attend, we still want you to have the information that was presented. This will be available this Sunday, June 4, in the lobby, in an envelope labeled with your family name. Please look for and take your envelope.

Summer Galactic Starveyors Camp

The Galactic Starveyors Camp (VBS) will be held June 12-15, 9am-noon, for kids entering Kindergarten – grade 5 (in the fall of 2017). Kids younger than Kindergarten can attend with a parent or guardian from 11am-noon. This is a great opportunity to build relationships with kids in order to tell them about Jesus—and to see those relationships last beyond the week. Volunteers and campers can register HERE.  The cost is $10 per child which includes a t-shirt. Also, for those who can participate in our prayer walk next Sunday, June 11, prayer information will be coming within the next week. We would also welcome anyone who can help decorate to be at Faith on Sunday, June 11 at 1pm!

VBS Donation Board

Check out the Galactic Starveyors Camp / VBS donation board by the children’s check in desk and choose an item (or two) to donate. This allows us to keep the price low and affordable for all. Please return your donation in the box in the lobby underneath the donation board. All donations need to be received by Monday, June 5. Thank you for your generosity!

Car Wash Volunteer Opportunity

We’re called to bless our neighbors without expectation, so let’s bless our community by putting on a free car wash for them. It will be a fun time to serve together. Please contact Nick at nmadsen@faithcovenant.org if you’re able to help. We will be washing cars in the parking lot at Faith Covenant Church on June 17 from 9am to 12 noon.

Annual Congregational Meeting

Attention all who consider Faith Covenant your home church: this meeting is for YOU! We want everyone who worships at Faith to hear what we’re committed to, what we’re working on, and get an update on the facility feasibility process. Members will also vote on the 2017-18 budget and new council members. Please mark your calendars for 11:45am, Sunday June 25.

All Church Retreat at Covenant Pines

We are so excited for the Faith Covenant all-church family camp weekend at Covenant Pines Bible Camp this summer, August 18-20. It will be a weekend of relaxation, inspiration, fellowship and fun in the beautiful northwoods of MN! Registration is now open (click HERE to sign up). Make sure to get it on your calendar and get registered – we hope to see as many Faith families as possible! Cost is $100 per adult and $50 per child (with family cap of $300). You will meet staff, find our about the Covenant Church, and explore classes, small groups, and volunteer opportunities at Faith. RSVP to Anna at afarrell@faithcovenant.org by Wednesday, June 7. Covenant World Relief Responding to the Syrian Crisis in Aleppo

Covenant World Relief has been working in Aleppo, Syria, for several months through a local partner to provide relief in the midst of heartbreaking conditions. The destruction of Aleppo is enormous and thousands of families have had little choice but to flee the city as heavy airstrikes and fighting continued with little relief. With winter setting in, the bitter cold also became a significant threat to those who had lost their homes and fled. Immediate needs for these families have been to keep them warm and fed. We have been able to reach out to a trusted, local partner in Aleppo to distribute food aid to families fleeing the violence. You are invited  to help these relief efforts by providing financial support – click HERE to give.
