Greetings Faith Covenant! As I write this, part of my heart and mind are still in Tetovo, Macedonia, following a two-week mission trip with Discovery Ministries. What a gift our time away was! The gift of new & deeper relationships, the gift of time & a different rhythm. The gift of worship & teaching, the gift of ‘living’ in a foreign culture/language/religion/history. The gift of hearing the stories of our Macedonian brothers in Christ, the gift of witnessing the joy of the Lord and new life…right before our very eyes. Thank you, church, for this opportunity to stretch, to be challenged, and to serve. To grow deeper and wider in my own faith and in love with God’s creation, far and near.
Speaking of near, read below for a few opportunities to spread your own wings a bit:
Town Hall Meetings
The Church Council will be hosting two Town Hall informational meetings for the congregation on Sunday, June 1. The meetings will run concurrently with our two worship services and will take place in the Legacy Chapel at both 9:30am and 11am. The agenda will include: nominees for the open church council positions, the proposed 2014-15 fiscal church budget, and the rollout of a capital fund campaign. Your presence and participation are strongly encouraged and desired, whether you are a member of Faith (yet) or not!
Speaking of membership…on June 1we will welcome a fantastic group of people into our membership. Because we know schedules can be tight and because we have an annual meeting coming up in June, we are offering a one-day membership intensive class prior to our annual meeting. Whether you’ve been here a few months or a few decades, if you’re interested in membership, please join us on Saturday, June 7 from 8:30am-1pm. We do need a minimum number in order to hold this class, so be sure to contact Jen at firstname.lastname@example.org by June 1 if you plan to attend!
Women’s Ministry Walking Club
Back by popular demand! Beginning on Friday, June 13, we will gather every Friday morning at 9am to enjoy a walk and fellowship. Women of all ages, strollers, children, and friendly dogs are welcome! Our first walk will begin at Faith, but walking sites will vary weekly after that. Contact Natalie at email@example.com if you have questions.
June all-church worship/picnic
We’re looking forward to worshipping and fellowshipping together as a united group a couple of times this summer! The last Sundays of June and July (June 29 and July 27) we will worship together at 9:30am and will then enjoy an all-church picnic and outdoor games (on-site) beginning at 11am both mornings. Plan to join us for some summer fun!
On Wednesday nights, students have a chance to grow through a mix of solid, Bible-based teaching, consistent small group relationships, relevant worship music, and a whole bunch of fun! Revolution, grades 5-8, meets each Wednesday from 6:30-8pm; and Fusion, grades 9-12, meets each Wednesday from 7:30-9pm. For more information contact Ryan at firstname.lastname@example.org, (Revolution), Brian at email@example.com (Fusion) or visit our ministry pages at: faithcovenant.org/ministries/children-youth-family/. Upcoming Events/Announcements: May 21: SNEAK PEEK for incoming 5th & 6th graders + Revolution (regular times)
Amnion Crisis Pregnancy Center Walk for Life
Calling walkers of all ages! Join us at 8:30am on Saturday morning, June 7th for a leisurely two-mile walk down Nicollet Avenue to support for Amnion Crisis Pregnancy Center. Walkers raise support and serve as a positive, visible show of love in our community. Well-behaved dogs are welcome to walk as well.
