Your life is making an impact on those around you, whether you know it or not. Mine is too. As we’ve been learning recently on Sunday mornings, our words make an impact. As does our silence. And our non-verbals. The question is: what kind of impact are you making on those around you? Those you know well and “do life” with. Those you pass in the aisles of Target. Those who ring up your order at the grocery store. Those you communicate with via Facebook. Or twitter.
Our youth have been busy making an IMPACT, near and far, in recent weeks. Our middle schoolers spent last weekend impacting our community by serving at Feed
My Starving Children (packing over 10,000 meals), serving at the Union Gospel Mission in Saint Paul (making beds for nearly 100 homeless men to sleep in that night), and serving at Fruit of the Vine food shelf in Burnsville (packing meals and loading cars for over 250 Burnsville households). Throughout the weekend, the team hung on to the acronym of IMPACT, which stands for Influenced, Mission-minded, People, Acting, Christ-like, for Transformation. The students took this acronym with them throughout their time serving and were encouraged to continue on with it into their homes, school, sports teams, and other places where they have the ability to make an impact.
Our senior high students spent last week in Rapid City, serving alongside Youth Works, partnering with nine service organizations in the area. Serving sites included: an adult care center for disabled adults, a nursing home, Habitat for Humanity, and a day program for youth. Our students worked hard, worshipped hard, and served as leaders among the other churches represented. Praise God for His movement in the lives of our young people!

Have a great week – see you Sunday!
Here Is What’s Coming Up
Responsible Church Makeover:
As the August 15th deadline fast approaches for raising the funds to pay in cash for our PHASE I project of the Responsible Church Makeover, we request your active and sacrificial participation in the project. The financial need for this phase is $300,000. We have currently received contributions of $64,820. Will you consider how your family may be able to give at one of these levels of support?
100 families with a gift of $1,000
50 families with a gift of $2,000
20 families with a gift of $5,000
It remains our goal to complete this project and the other major facility repairs without borrowing money. Thank you for your sacrificial and generous giving.
SHINE VBS COUNTDOWN (4 days away!):
VBS week is next week! From 9am-12noon each day, kids will worship, hear Bible stories, play games, make crafts and learn about the crowns God has for them in heaven when they shine for Jesus here on earth. For ages 3 1/2 – entering grade 6. Cost is $5. We will have walk-in registrations, so bring your child and a friend/neighbor to attend SHINE
VBS Early Check-In
On Sunday, August 3, we encourage you to take advantage of early VBS check-in for your preregistered child(ren). You will receive your child’s nametag with crew name and your security card (for pick-up) and you can also purchase a t-shirt and/or cd if you desire. This will allow you to bring your child(ren) directly to their crew in the worship center on Monday morning – no waiting in line!
Faith Youth Wednesday Programs
On Wednesday, August 6, programs will resume that offer students the chance to grow through a mix of solid, Bible-based teaching, consistent small group relationships, relevant worship music, and a whole bunch of fun! Revolution (grades 5-8) meets from 6:30-8pm; and Fusion (grades 9-12) meets from 7:30-9pm.
