Faith Covenant Church

Messy Moving

Posted on Jan 28, 2016 in Faith Updates

I’m moving out.

Not, of course, to a different home, but to a new office. For a variety of reasons Char and I are trading church offices, so we (and John Bennett) are in the process of hauling all of our stuff down the hall. What this has created is two very messy offices. Papers are everywhere, furniture is in the hallways, and each office has a mixture of both her things and mine. Needless to say, transitioning has not been a tidy process!

I think this well represents the transition period Faith has been on for the past year. Like two people switching offices, the period without a lead pastor hasn’t been without it’s challenges. For some people, it may have felt a little messy! Even under the excellent leadership of our staff and council, the vacancy of the senior pastorate has been felt.

However, it is in the midst of messy transitions that some people shine. As we head into this new season under the leadership of Pastor Brad Kindall, I want to thank all of you who have stayed committed to this church. I may be new, but from my “outsider” perspective I can honestly say that there are many who love and care for Faith Covenant, and who truly call this place home. Without your prayer, support and commitment this transition could not have gone as well as it did! We as a staff are truly thankful for each and every one that has played a vital role in this time-in-between.

Thank you, and God bless you this week!

In Christ,
Tommy Case
Interim Director of Student Ministries

Here’s What’s Happening at Faith:

Welcoming Concert of Prayer

Come join us at a celebration of prayer to welcome our new pastor, Brad Kindall, who starts in the office at Faith on February 2. This time of prayer and worship will be in the Legacy Chapel on Sunday, February 7 at 9am. All are welcome! (Please note: adult education classes are canceled for this morning.)

Ash Wednesday Worship Service

Please join us for our annual Ash Wednesday worship service on February 10 at 6:30pm. We will spend time in worship, meditate on scripture and offer thanksgiving. There will not be childcare, but children are welcome to attend the service with their parents. The service will take the place of regular Wednesday night programs.

Feed My Starving Children Mobile Pack

All at Faith Covenant are invited to be a part of the hunger solution through a Feed My Starving Children MobilePack on February 1-6. This is an opportunity to learn about hunger related issues, pray for those in need, raise funds to cover the cost of meals and pack meals for the hungry. This year’s event will be held at 15125 Cedar Ave in Apple Valley (formerly Rainbow Foods). Sign up for shifts in the lobby at Faith or go to and choose the Apple Valley, South Metro Pack. As part of our fundraising support we are asking families to pick up an M&M tube in the lobby, eat the chocolate, and return the container, filled with quarters. This year’s packing goal is to pack four million meals! For questions, contact Jayne at
