Setting the Table

Posted on Sep 9, 2016 in Faith Updates

When I was growing up a chore that I never had to do was set the table. Believe me, my parents made up for it with other chores, but setting the table wasn’t one of them. On holidays such as Thanksgiving or Christmas, we would celebrate them at my grandmother’s house, and luckily she was always happy to guide me in the process.

Sometimes this is how I feel the Lord works in my ministry. I’m never real sure what I’m doing, but I know God is always there to help guide me through the process. I’m very grateful for that because knowing that He’s always there to guide me takes the pressure off of me. I just need to be willing to show up, do my part, and He will do the rest.

In Isaiah 58:11 he says,

“And the Lord will guide you continually and satisfy your desire in scorched places and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.”

Some times the heat of ministry can cause stress in attempts to implement classes, events, and service projects for my students. I even worry at times if the plans I have will be liked by my students. I’m blessed with the fact that God has always guided me through every step of my ministry, and has always blessed the table that I have prepared for Him.

I’m so looking forward to what’s to come this ministry year here at Faith Covenant Church. I’m excited for 3 Sunday morning youth classes to begin on September 18th, and for Wednesday Night youth group on October 5th. It’s going to be a great year filled with the Lord’s blessings!

Have a blessed week!
