Sun Dogs

Posted on Jan 6, 2017 in Faith Updates

I’ve never seen a sundog before, and now I’ve seen two in a week! Oh the beauty, oh the glory… The thing about sundogs is that they’re most visible when the sun is low in the sky and the air is super cold (both conditions have certainly been met around here in recent days!).

Uncommon beauty that’s most clear when the weather outside is most frightfully cold. A mood-lifter on a frigid morning drive. A reminder of God’s glorious creation, of beauty to be found in even the most uncomfortable circumstances.

Thank you, God, for the beauty of a MN winter. Thank you for this New Year. Thank you for choosing us, for loving us, and for giving us unexpected joys in the journey.

Stay warm, and we’ll see you on Sunday!

Gospel of Mark Study

Feed My Starving Children Mobile Pack

FMSC is hosting a weeklong meal packing extravaganza (again at the former Rainbow Foods in Apple Valley), with the goal of packing 4 million meals to improve the lives of malnourished children throughout the world! This is a wonderful way to serve alongside others from our church family, so bring your friends and family (minimum age: 5). Registration is now open and the link is available HERE or on Faith’s web banner. To join the packing group going on February 6, choose the 7:30-9:30pm group. Contact Pastor Char for questions at crotvold@faithcovenant.org.

Deacon Connect

Faith’s Connect ministry is preparing for a new season of intentional “inreach,” involving our deacons and each attendee at FCC. Our deacons look forward to actively engaging with you. Look for a phone call or email mid-January from one of our deacons. We look forward to growing deeper roots as the family of God! Questions? Contact Pastor Char at crotvold@faithcovenant.org.

Small Group Leader Training

If you are a current small group leader or are interested in being trained to serve in this way, please join us at one of two leader trainings: Tuesday, January 24 (6-9pm) or Saturday, January 28 (9am-noon). RSVP to care@faithcovenant.org or call Pastor Char at 952.890.3110 if you have questions!

This is a group of ladies interested in various sewing projects. There are two meetings each month, meeting in Classroom A at the church. Subsequent meetings are held regularly on the second Monday morning at 9:00, and the fourth Tuesday evening at 6:30 of each month. If you are interested in joining or have questions, call Athele Knutson 952-432-7694.

Weekend to Remember

Every marriage requires intentional effort and attention and we are pleased to partner with FamilyLife MN to promote this retreat, March 3-5. Bob & Jaymie McNamara, longtime FCC members, recently attended one of these retreats and have agreed to serve as “hosts” for anyone at Faith who would like to attend. Bob & Jaymie will be in the lobby beginning January 29, with details and to answer any questions you might have. Registration will be offered Sundays, February 5 – 26.
