Faith Covenant Church

When Trouble Comes Our Way

Posted on Jan 29, 2015 in Faith Updates

It has been hard. It has been sad. It has been a trying time, digesting the news that the Co-Lead pastorate of Mike Lotzer and John Foley coming to an end. Mike’s resignation and John’s stepping away from the co-leadership are two things no one wanted in 2015. However, all who have been involved in this decision, as well as the staff, feel a sense of God’s peace in this hard time.

You might ask yourself, “how can you feel peace at a time like this” –when emotions are elevated and tensions are high?

The truth is this… we can feel peace because Faith Covenant Church is not built around two mere men. It is built on the solid foundation of Jesus Christ and his teaching. Faith Covenant is not defined by the staff, it is defined by who we are in Jesus Christ. We belong to Christ and we are fully his.

The facts surrounding the breakdown of the co-lead are outlined in the letter sent out to the congregation. We can continue to trust that God has the best in mind for Faith. We can have the confidence to continue to be unified in the mission of the church to love God and people. We can have such confidence by looking at God’s promise for us in Joshua 1:9. It reads…

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9

I wrote this song for a time like this. This is a free download for you off my album.  Check It Out On iTunes

God be with us where we go.

See you Sunday,
