With Him, With You in Faith
Posted on Jan 27, 2017 in Faith Updates
Last night we kicked off our winter Wednesday night Grow classes. It was so fun to see the over 150 kids, teens, and adults coming together to grow deeper. We launched a new men’s discipleship ministry called Resolute. The women launched into a study of the book of Hosea. Pastor Char is leading men and women in a deeper walk of prayer, and my class, Identified, is a biblical journey with the question: Who am I?
I was so blessed by the people I was with last night. Our class discussion started with an opportunity for each person to introduce themselves answering the simple question: Who am I? Some of the people in my group I knew, but since I’ve only been at Faith Covenant for a year, I really didn’t know most people’s stories. Wow! Amazing stories. It’s such a simple endeavor to share your story with another, but something supernatural always happens as we open ourselves up to others and trust them with our stories. Why is that?
Simply put: Christianity is nothing but with. It is fundamentally a life with God and with each other in faith. The story of our faith begins in the garden—the man (Adam), and the woman (Eve), simply living with God and with each other. God designed humans to be with in the beginning!
Sin, of course, broke our ability to be with God and each other, but Jesus (Emmanuel—God with us) paved a way back to being with God and with each other (read Ephesians 2 and you’ll see the gospel is nothing but good news about the road back to “with!”).
Then Revelation tells us our eternity will be a restoration of with:
“I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.” Revelation 21:3-4
I pray you are growing deeper in a life of with. It is not good, nor is it necessary, for us to walk this journey alone. We are designed to be with!
In Him and with Him with you!

Acts of Kindness Cards
We are excited to share a concrete way that all of us at Faith Covenant can show God’s love to our community to remind people that God loves them. There is a Kindness Card available at the welcome desk that you can use as a first step conversation starter, or even anonymously, to bless someone you come across in your daily routine. Please take several of these and give them out when you bless others through an act of kindness, whether it be to pay for their cup of coffee or change a tire.
