Faith!

Imagine this scene. You get onto an airplane, and the congenial person beside you quickly starts a deep conversation. Whoa! Hang on tight! They lead with this question: “What is Christianity?”

What would you say?

A) “Christianity is a religion.”

B) “Christianity is a system of ethical principles.”

C) “Christianity is relationship with a loving God.”

D) “Christianity is the story of reality.”

I’d say, “D) The story of reality.” I say that because I’m reading a GREAT book that one of our members gave me a while back, The Story of Reality by Gregory Koukl. It’s so good! It’s an excellent book for skeptics, the spiritually curious, and even a seasoned saint. In it, the author seeks to help us understand how “Christianity is a true story of how the world began, why the world is the way it is, what role humans play in the drama, and how all the plotlines of the story are resolved in the end.” He compares our worldview to other worldviews in a wonderfully creative way. I’m reading it now with a spiritually curious friend.

I bring this up because this Sunday we will again do something pretty special with the message time. I don’t want to tip my hand too much, but together, we will peer back at how far we’ve come through Genesis and see what God’s story tells us about where we are in His story of reality. It’ll be another great Sunday to invite a friend. We will do Q and A, and together we will stage scenes from the kingdom of God for a watching world.

In Christ alone,
Pastor Brad
