Faith,

Let me paraphrase a quote I heard from a staff member this week: “I understand change is part of life, but relational change is always the hardest.” So true! Why is that? It’s because we serve a relational God. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit live in eternal, self-giving love, and they invite us into that communion eternally. All of God’s law is fulfilled in love of God and love of others. In short, life is 100% relational. That’s God’s design, and that’s why relationships are so important to us.

This is also why it will be hard and sad to say goodbye to Kon and Tori Nagy as they move from Faith Covenant Church into a new chapter of ministry at Bethlehem Covenant Church in Minneapolis.

I know—bummer! Kon has led our worship ministry so faithfully for the past four years, and Tori has been a gifted volunteer in music and youth ministries as well. Their heart for Christ and His Church has been a blessing to us all. Why the change? I’ll let Kon explain. You can click here to read his letter of resignation.

What will be our next steps in worship ministry? Thankfully, Kon has built up a strong “bullpen” of volunteers. Good leaders train good leaders, and Kon has done exactly that. Our volunteers will be a huge gift as we navigate this transition period. What’s more, we will likely bring in some guest leaders to help as well.

Kon’s last service leading us will be Ash Wednesday, February 18th. On Sunday, February 15th, we will have time to pray for him, Tori, and their new chapter in ministry.

While I am sad to see Kon and Tori go, I’ve been doing ministry long enough to know that God will provide as He always does. That’s actually the theme of our Sunday message as we explore God’s heavenly wisdom in leading the Israelites into a waterless wilderness. Sometimes God leads us to places where He knows we’ll thirst more for Him, and in so doing, His Spirit calls to our spirit: “Trust Me!”

Trusting in Him, for He is good!

Pastor Brad
