Hello everyone!

We survived October 2023, which in Minnesota means we begin the month with 90-degree weather and end the month with snow. Our next challenge is November, where we begin the month with a time change. Remember to set your clocks back an hour on Sunday (or Saturday night)!

In the past few weeks, we’ve been delving into generosity. We all agree that generosity is a good thing, even a great thing. Generosity is something that is valued by many cultures and religions, not just Christianity. In the Christian faith, we see generosity as essential as it is a reflection of God’s image, of who God has made us to be.

That sounds nice, right? But it’s not easy.

Generosity is not just one thing. We often think of generosity as financial gifts, and that’s certainly a component of generosity. But generosity extends far beyond money. We can also be generous with our presence!

Just being with people is an act of generosity, one that is often underrated. It is so important that we give others our very presence, but not because we’re so great as individuals. Trust me – you’re not automatically going to be better off just because I spend some time with you or vice versa. We are created to live in community, and that means giving each other… ourselves and our presence.

I’m excited to share more on Sunday. I look forward to sharing more with you on Sunday and being graced by the generosity of your presence!

In Christ,

Kavan Rogness
