Greetings church,
What a rich journey we have begun! Over the coming months, we’ll be diving into the Ten Commandments that God gave to Moses in Exodus 20. Pastor Brad gave us a sweeping overview of this chapter on Sunday, and I’m excited to take a first look at the first commandment this week, which reads: “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. You shall have no other gods before me.” Exodus 20:2-3
We’ll actually be spending the next three weeks on these two verses, and if you’re wondering how on earth we can do that, stay tuned! There’s a great deal of wisdom to draw from here. Our first look centers on one little word: LOVE. We could spend ages unpacking this word, but for our purposes this week, we’re going to look at love as it relates to God’s purposes in giving the commandments and our responses in living in love.
