Faith,
Imagine this scene. It was winter 2020. Jill and I were on a winter vacation, trying to get a week’s warmth. Covid was beginning to crop up in the news, but no travel restrictions had hit the US yet.
Jill and I were by the pool, conversing with a gentleman and his wife sitting near us. She was from Sweden, and he was from Iran. We asked how they met and where they were married. He was not a Christian, but he was happy to allow his wife’s family the honor of having their wedding in a Christian church, though she admitted she was not much of a church-goer.
As you can imagine, the conversation eventually turned to an obvious question: “So, what do you do for a living?” I told him I’m a pastor, and he admitted he finds my vocation fascinating, but he doesn’t have much context to understand it. I asked him if he knew much about Christianity, and he admitted he did not.
We didn’t have much time, so I knew I had to lovingly serve Christ Jesus and my new friend with a short but compelling message of the good news of Jesus Christ. I took out my phone and opened an app that allowed me to draw an illustration someone taught me decades ago.
Do you want to know what I drew so you can share the gospel with someone quickly? Join us this week at Faith Covenant Church as we once more seek to Each One, Reach One–one life at a time with the good news of Jesus Christ!
In Christ alone,
Pastor Brad
