Faith,

This Sunday is the pledge deadline for our Faith Makes History Capital Campaign to renovate our lower level and exterior. We are so thankful for all of you who have pledged thus far! If you haven’t pledged yet, remember that our goal is 100% participation, no matter the amount.

I’ve heard some great questions this week from people new to capital campaigns, so I thought I’d create another set of FAQs to provide some answers. I hope these are helpful!

What is a three-year capital campaign pledge?

A three-year capital campaign pledge is a commitment between you and God to give an extra amount over 36 months to fund the renovation of our lower level. Think of it as investing in the present and future generations of our church, separate from your regular monthly offering. Even a small monthly amount helps us reach our long-term goals.

“I don’t make much money. Do I really need to participate in this campaign?” Every single gift matters, no matter the size. We encourage you to pray and commit to an amount that is personally meaningful and sacrificial for you, not one that is financially impossible. We know that many of you already give sacrificially to Faith, and we’re grateful for that. Every pledge matters, no matter the amount. For example, if you can give $20 a month, that’s $720 over three years.

“Is a ‘pledge’ the same as an actual contract I have to sign?”
No, it’s not a legal contract. A pledge is a spiritual commitment made between you and God that helps the church plan the project’s budget. We understand life happens—if your financial situation changes over the three years, you can adjust your pledge simply by letting us know.

“I already give monthly. Why do I need to give more?”
Your regular monthly giving supports our day-to-day operations: paying staff, running programs, and keeping the lights on. The capital campaign is a separate investment to renovate our facility for the next generation.

“If I commit to a pledge, do I have to pay it all right away?”
Not at all! A three-year pledge is designed to be paid out over 36 months. You choose the schedule that works best for your budget—monthly, quarterly, or whatever fits your pay cycle. It’s all about spreading out a bigger gift over time. You can start now, next month, or six months from now. You determine the schedule.

“What if I can only afford a small pledge, like $5 a week? $1 a month? Is that too little to bother with?”

Absolutely not! We truly believe in the biblical concept of proportional giving, where everyone gives according to their means. A gift of $5 a week is a generous and meaningful investment of $780 over three years. Jesus fed thousands with five loaves of bread and two fish. What might God do with $1 a month? We celebrate every single person’s commitment, no matter the amount.

“What’s the best way to pay this pledge if I only use my phone for banking?”
The easiest way is usually through automated giving. You can set up recurring, scheduled payments using our website or the FaithConnect app. Once there, click on the drop down menu and highlight “Faith Makes History Capital Campaign.” Once you set it up with your chosen amount and frequency, you won’t have to think about it for 3 years.

Final Question: Pastor Brad, are you preaching about the capital campaign this week?

Nope! This Sunday, we continue our journey to the manger! Our Christmas series, God’s Family Christmas, has already reminded us that The Son is a Son who is God and that The Son has a Father who is God. This week, we get to celebrate a key part of the story: The Son has a Mother! Join us as we remember how Jesus’ mother, Mary, was absolutely necessary for our rescue and mission. It will be a perfect time to refocus your heart on the true meaning of the season!

In Christ alone,

Pastor Brad
