Faith,

How’s your faith? We are Faith Covenant Church, after all. We should be growing in our faith. OK, so what is faith? Let’s keep it simple: Faith = Belief + Dependence + Loyalty. Thus, we as disciples of Jesus don’t just believe that Jesus is Lord. We dependupon Jesus as Lord, and we are loyal to Him as Lord.

 “Fair enough, Pastor Brad. Agreed!”

Great! So, is there ever a time when our faithfulness to God, as revealed in Christ, should ever be rejected?

“Absolutely not, Pastor Brad!”

But what if you were wrongly accused of something, placed in prison, and you could get out of that predicament by rejecting Jesus as Lord?

“Hmmm…”

Or what if the ways of Christ don’t seem very effective in a situation, and the ways of the world would be more expedient?

“Ugh…”

Or what if faithfulness to Christ and His ways would cost you your life? Does God really expect faithfulness first, even if it comes at a cost?

This is our journey this Sunday. We’ll be rediscovering our faith in Christ through the life of Joseph in prison (Genesis 40). He’s been wronged. His predicament is highly inconvenient, and staying faithful to God could cost Him everything.

I’m excited to share this message with Christ’s faithful at Faith Covenant Church this Sunday! I pray you’ll be there and invite a friend!

In Christ alone,

Pastor Brad
