Dear church,
This week we get to talk about one of my favorite words: GRACE.
What comes to mind when you think of the word GRACE? Maybe it’s the scene in the movie “Meet the Parents” when Greg is invited to say a prayer before eating dinner (for the first time) with his fiancé and her parents. Or maybe it’s a fond memory of a family tradition. In my husband’s family, group dinners begin with our seven-year-old nephew, Magnus, leading a rousing rendition of “Oh, the Lord is good to me…” Or maybe the word grace reminds you of a moment of forgiveness and healing, or a deep emotion as you recall a time when you either failed to receive grace or failed to offer grace.
This week we walk through Genesis 21, which offers us three unique instances of grace… each one occuring in a desert, of sorts. I’ve enjoyed preparing, and I’m looking forward to sharing with you what God has been doing in me this week.
Stay cool, and I’ll see you on Sunday!
