Hello, Faith family!
Happy Fourth of July! I hope you’re enjoying a long holiday weekend. I also hope that you get to enjoy some intentional, colorful, safely distanced explosives (fireworks).
Our country began in 1776 when colonists decided that they didn’t like the way that King George was exercising authority over them. They felt unrepresented and that the king’s authority over them was unjust. They felt that King George was overstepping the boundaries of his authority.
Which leaves us with a question: Does authority have boundaries?
That’s the question we’ll look at this Sunday. We’re getting into the final stretch of our Christ in the Beginning series that delves into Genesis. The last several chapters deal primarily with the story of Joseph, Abraham’s great-grandson and a key figure in the Genesis narrative. We’ll be in Genesis 39, an interesting story about how Joseph receives and handles the authority that God gives him.
We look forward to seeing you on Sunday. Enjoy the holiday!
