Faith,
I would like to use this Faith Update to share an important staff announcement.
As you may know, our very devoted youth director, Davey Neubauer, and his family have been uniquely navigating church life. Davey has served our teens and parents with excellence at Faith Cov, while his wife, Laura, has been serving Woodcrest Church as their Children’s Director for the last decade. Married ministers often have to navigate this dual church road as they fulfill God’s call, but over time, it becomes hard for their families. As you can imagine, an opportunity to not do so would be cherished.
Such an opportunity has arisen for Davey and Laura, and their daughters, Kaylee and Addy. Davey has accepted the call to be the new Youth Pastor at Lakeview Covenant Church in Duluth. This new call will enable Davey’s family to worship and serve together at one church, rather than two. When Davey told me this week that he would be resigning his position as Youth Director at Faith, I could not help but rejoice with him and Laura over this new opportunity.

I’m so grateful Davey will be with us through July 24. Give him a hug and a pat on the back when you see him. He has served us with excellence! In the meantime, I will be forming a search team as we prayerfully pursue God’s next for Faith’s youth ministry. I covet your prayers in the process. The good news is that God is faithful, and Davey’s new beginning is Faith’s new beginning as well!
Davey will be with us this Sunday. I pray you will join us as well. We have a wonderfully challenging passage in Genesis 38, suitable for PG-13 audiences. Parents, this might be a great Sunday for your kids to take part in Faith’s Summer Sundays ministry (grades K-5th grade). I’m excited to share this tough passage because through it, God’s Spirit will open our hearts more and more to his extraordinarily amazing grace.
