Faith,
If you could have lunch with any person alive today, who would that be?
Now imagine you’ve been granted that special lunch with that important person. What would you long for in that experience? Would it be fair to say you’d like to listen to what they say? My guess is you wouldn’t choose that time to be on your phone or bring your laptop so you can stream Netflix during lunch. No, the time would be best spent experiencing their presence and listening to their words.
Many people come to me and say they’d like to have an experience with God or hear from God. The good news is God has told us how! We experience and hear from God every time we humbly come to His word—the Bible. The Bible is God’s inspired word, and God’s Holy Spirit is always present when a believer humbly comes to the word to hear from God.
For this reason, our disciple-making strategy at Faith must include the Spirit and the Word. People don’t want to know about God; they want to experience God, and God has promised to speak to us through His word by the Spirit.
This Sunday, I pray you will join us as we discover the power to be His witnesses in a world desperate to hear from God.
In Christ alone,
Pastor Brad
