Faith,

This Sunday, we will take a break from our regularly scheduled sermon series to welcome Rev. Dr. Keith Hamilton from Alaska Christian College. Who’s this guy, and why is he joining us? Let me give you an introduction!

First of all, Keith’s a Jesus-following, disciple-maker. There are pastors all over our denomination who were discipled by Keith into ministry. I have sat with many Covenant pastors who all came under Keith’s discipling at North Park College and Seminary.

Secondly, Keith’s a man of tremendous faith. Over two decades ago, our brothers and sisters in the Evangelical Covenant Church of Alaska sought to establish a one-year, accredited Christian college for Alaskan Natives. The problem? They’d be starting such an endeavor with nothing — no finances, faculty, facilities, or students. They needed someone called by God to lead such an uphill challenge. Twenty-five years later, and under Keith’s leadership, ACC has grown from a one-year certificate program to an accredited college serving 900 students from nearly half of the state’s villages and cities since its inception. Jill and I have been there! It’s a work of God to behold.

Lastly, Keith’s our Faith Makes History Capital Campaign fundraiser! In fact, this weekend, Keith will spend three days speaking to Faith’s staff and leadership, as well as some committed givers, about what might be possible in our quest to update our lower level and exterior. Have questions about the campaign? Here’s a link to our Capital Campaign FAQs!

Keith’s going to help us find ourselves in the book of Jonah this Sunday. We will once again be reminded that God is crazy in love with sinners and He will go beyond what we think or imagine to turn our hearts toward Him and those He loves.

I’ll be there with you!

In Christ alone,

Pastor Brad
