Faith!
We’re so close! We’re at the 20-yard line, almost on the green, rounding second to third! We are less than two weeks away from Christmas!
- What’s left on the checklist?
- Christmas shopping.
- Cookie baking
- Cookie eating
- More shopping
- More eating
- Christmas concert
- More eating
- More shopping
- Ugh
Whoa, Faith! God’s inviting us to sloooooowwww down here, not speed up.
There’s a better way.
Let’s call it The Mary and Joseph Way.
“Mary, bad news. We have to go to Bethlehem for the census.”
“But the baby! It’s so close!”
“Any time?”
“Days, maybe a week.”
“I’ll start packing. We’ll have to leave next week.”
“Where will we stay?”
“God will provide.”
“This is too much!”
“Shhhh…our hope is in Him.”
“For no word from God will ever fail.”
“Yes, yes, my love. We trust.”
I can’t imagine what those last ten days were like for Mary and Joseph, but I do know these next ten days for us can either be filled with worry or worship. I know for me, the mall still beckons, but so does that little town of Bethlehem. I hear something coming! Under the radar!
“How silently, how silently the wondrous gift is given.”
“For no word from God will ever fail.”
Yes!
Join us Sunday, Faith, as we explore the life-changing news in one of our favorite Christmas hymns, O Little Town of Bethlehem. We will sing, worship, and rest in the promises of the coming King.
O come to us, abide with us,
our Lord Emmanuel!
Merry almost Christmas!
Pastor Brad
