Faith,

Do you have a will?

“Pastor Brad, do you mean that document that declares what we leave our loved ones, or do you mean ‘will’ like our ability to choose and make decisions according to our desires, or are you talking about God’s will, or what exactly?”

Yes!

“Huh?”

To put it succinctly, Faith, your faith has a will.

“Still confused!”

Think about it this way.  If faith is what we believe in and depend upon, then our faith either trusts in “My will be done” or “Thy will be done.” Both expressions of faith are acts of the will, and both leave a legacy for our loved ones. While I do hope you have been a good steward of your resources and created a last will and testament, let’s not forget that your faith is leaving an inheritance as well. It may not be written down anywhere, but your trust in God, or lack thereof, produces an inheritance that makes history for your family, friends, and those you may never know.

I love the way the singer Sara Groves put it in her song, Generations:

Remind me of this with every decision
Generations will reap what I sow
I can pass on a curse or a blessing
To those I will never know

I pray you will join us this Sunday, Faith. Generations are going to reap what we sow!

In Christ alone,

Pastor Brad
