Faith,
Who’s shepherding you and your family these days? Aren’t all of us led by someone or something? Is that which is shepherding you, giving you life, or taking your life? Are they leading you to God or away from God?
It’s fascinating how the shepherd motif is so important to the scriptures. Moses and King David were both shepherds. Psalm 23, the most famous psalm in the Bible, is embedded with shepherd imagery. And outside of Mary and Joseph, the shepherds were the first to see the newborn King.
As we head into this third week of The Promise series this Advent season, we will focus our attention on The Promised Shepherd. This is the very same Promised Shepherd spoken of in Isaiah 40:11. “He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.”
We live in a world desperate for the Good Shepherd, for He alone lays down His life for the sheep. I pray you will make it a point to surrender your life to the Good Shepherd this season and let Him lead you.
See you Sunday!
