Happy Thanksgiving, Faith!
I pray your turkey day was filled with gratitude and love for the goodness God has bestowed upon us! Now what? Now, we wait! Huh?
That’s what Advent is all about. For centuries the Church has celebrated the season we are entering as a waiting for the coming of Christ. So as we turn the page from Thanksgiving to Christmas, we look back and remember the waiting and longing of ancient Israel for the Messiah to be born, and we join together with all those in Christ awaiting Christ’s return.
Our focus each Sunday this Advent season will be The Promise. Which promise? THE Promise–Christ Himself! Remember the verse I introduced last week? It will be our theme verse for this season:
“For no matter how many promises God has made, they are ‘Yes’ in Christ.” 2 Corinthians 1:20
The church is decorated. The music’s ready to be sung. Jesus is present for all of us to know and love Him more!
“O Come! O Come, Emmanuel!”
Saying yes to His Yes!
