Faith,
It’s true. I’m one of the holdouts: “No Christmas tree until after Thanksgiving, and no Christmas music until December 1.” But the page is turning this week! “Unleash the reindeer and unpack the Christmas creche, honey!” Advent is upon us!
Oh, it really is the most wonderful time of the year, isn’t it?! To lead us to the manger, we’re going to go on a journey the next four Sundays through what I’m calling The Songs of Christmas. More specifically, we will be looking at the people and angels in Luke’s gospel who burst into song (or poetry) upon the news of the coming King. And while every mall and restaurant is blasting Frosty the Snowman, we’re going to turn our hearts toward God’s word and the lyrics of salvation that began the Christmas season in the first place.
I do pray that amidst the holiday hurry, you will prioritize time spent with the Lord and the family of God at Faith. We are living His redemptive story together, and we have the best Christmas story the world has ever heard!
